Silverwind Refuge - HORDE

This is a common example of the Horde taking over! What used to be an Alliance settlement in Ashenvale was completely ravaged and taken over by the Horde. R.I.P Camp Taurajo.

Level 29! - Bombing Astranaar!

WOO HOO!!!

I've completed the quest about 10 minutes ago, but I keep bombing the place. You see, back in Burning Crusade I used to terrorize this Alliance town with my Blood Elf Rogue. I would kill and kill NPC's until the Alliance would finally show up.

But now I'm bombing the place from the air and having a blast doing it. This to me is the ultimate fan service from Blizzard.

Blizzard. Thank. You.

Level 25 - Hellscream for President!

Garrosh isn't such a bad guy afterall. We're playing World of Warcraft here. The time of common enemies and neutral cities should be ending soon! We are at WAR people. And I love it.

Here are some random screenies I took last night. A couple of folks proudly showed off their Druid skins to me.

Druids rule!

I've been turned into an Imp and I can still mount up :)

Level 22 - Azshara is complete.

So I'm heading off to Ashenvale to the Morshan Ramparts to begin my tour questing there. I thought I would just touch on my experiences within Azshara. First things first! Azshara is no longer the boring zone it used to be. I've not seen all the other zones yet in the game but Azshara has changed from the ground up. There is much familiarity within Azshara for you to remember the zone as it once was, but the Goblins have gone in terra-forming the hell out of it. Entire mountain ranges removed, species of animal going extinct and warfare between the Alliance and the Horde ever present. If not for the Alliance trying to muck up the Horde's progression in the zone, the Naga are also trying to fight for what was taken from them. I tell you what tho.. The Bilgewater Goblins are not leaving Azshara. They are fighting with the Horde to stay for good.

The quests were unique in their own right and tons of fun. Its good to see the love and attention to detail the designers put into making the questing feel new and smooth. They move you throughout the zone with no trouble giving you a chance to see all the new content, but you can also explore at your own will.

I will miss Archmage Xylem and his crazy chores and tests. And I will miss Azuregos and I kinda almost feel bad about raiding with my friends in Vanilla WoW and trying to kill him once a week. I hope everything goes well for him and his new found love.

Azshara gets a 9/10 for me.

Here are some closing shots of my run through Azshara

Giddy-Up

While all the other Goblins, besides Shamans I suppose, are crying about not having a mount yet.. I get a Felsteed cause I'm an awesome Warlock. Normally I would stop leveling this guy and wait for the live version of Cataclysm to come out, but I'm just having too much fun, and Cataclysm is just way too far away.

I'm going to keep on leveling. And yes, I will do it again come live.

Giddy-up. A few more levels and it's on to Ashenvale.

Level 20 - No Goblin Racial Mounts.. but I'm a Lock!

So that solved that problem until the Goblin mounts get implemented. And oh yeah!

GALLYWIX WANTS YOU TO ROLL GOBLIN FOR THE HORDE!!

And this.. well this is just disturbing.

Battle of Epic Shortness

I finally went up against the Horde Goblin's counterparts. The Alliance Gnomes. Who is stronger? Who is taller? Who is cooler? YOU BE THE JUDGE!!!

Blizz has us collecting Shizz again. -LvL 17

Whoever is developing these quests, loves to make us pick up Shizz. And yes thats 'shizz' with two z's. This guy came at us in Burning Crusade.. and hit us not once, but two times digging through the stinky. And I know, but my memory can't recall, somewhere in Northrend we were doing it again. But now I'm picking up Azsharite crystals. And do you know where they come from? They are the droppings from this guy

And this be their Shizz:

Thank Kagem!

Kagem, my favorite tank, good friend and fellow blogger over at designed my blog's new Logo! One thing I need to make clear right now.. I know what you're all thinking.. Why the hell is it called 'The Evasion Fail-Blog' when he's playing a Goblin Warlock!? Well my main on the Live servers is an Orc Rogue.. If you dig deep in the recesses of this blog you will find the answers to all of that.

But thanks again Kage! - And please everyone check out his blog, sign up and leave some comments!

Level 16 - A Buggy Night

Tonight questing in Azshara was full of bugs on top of bugs. The quest that gave me the most problems had to do with an NPC escort. It was a surveying quest and she just wouldn't survey the locations that I brought her to. There were three spots she had to survey. Sometimes she would just do one.. then I abandon the quest, re-pick it up.. and go back to the spot. Then she would survey two.. but not a third. So finally after many attempts at dismissing the NPC, abandoning the quest, or just plain old killing her off and re-summoning her.. It finally finished. Good thing too, because it was part of a chain quest that sent me off to a different area.

So tonight I leave you with a picture of sheer epicness. THE MIGHTY CAP'N PLACEHOLDERhas returned to the Beta in style. He is now a Level 95 mob.

Level 15 - My how Azshara has changed.

And for the better. It used to be a boring place. A place I used to avoid much like I did Silithis. According to WoW lore, Azshara was given to the Goblins to teraform into a symbol of the Horde to show to the world that Kalimdor is theirs.

Back in Again! - Level 14

How's about a pic of a Troll Druid in cat form to whet your appetite?

So I've finished the entire Goblin starting zone and defeated Trade Prince Gallywix with Thrall's help. I got to visit big ol bad Garrosh who is definitely a douche but seems to have Ogrimmar on lockdown.

I explored all the areas of the new re-inforced Ogrimmar and I gotta say its a lot better than the original. I am going to miss the old Ogrimmar, but you gotta move on. There are multiple places to train you class, TWO BANKS and TWO Auction Houses.. that I've seen so far.. so thats pretty cool. Plus there are more than one places to set you hearth stone.

I'll leave you all with a nice old picture of whats to be the Tauren Paladin Mount.

The New Cataclysm Launcher

This is the new demon that required me to not be able to play the beta the last couple days. But it looks as if I'll be able to stream it at least in a few momements while the rest of it builds.

Downloading Beta. For THE THIRD TIME.

I know I shouldn't be complaining. I was given the rare opportunity to test yet another World of Warcraft Expansion. But seriously.. I've been downloading, uninstalling and downloading this freaking client for longer than I've actually played the Beta.

This new launcher, in my opinion should have been tested perhaps on the PTR and then on Live not on the Beta. We should be testing things IN GAME, not on how we can play the game while it patches. I know Blizz is WAAAAY behind when it comes to streaming the game while we receive patches. It would do away with all the downtime this game faces on patch day.. But c'mon son!

I don't even have a cool pic to go with this thread.

Anyway.. I'm back to the same point I was last Friday night. Download is at 23% as I type this. It seems to be loading a ton faster than last time.

Here's to hoping I get to play the Beta tomorrow!!!

New Beta Launcher = Downtime.

I wanted to add some new pictures to the blog, but I had to to uninstall my client and download the new one. With uninstalling the last version it got rid of all the pictures I had saved. From now on I'll move them to a permanent folder so I can add pictures regularly.

This may be a bit premature to say, but it seems the download this time is moving along much, much faster than the last time. I have no idea why this is.

Level 12 - Lost Isles best starting zone ever?

I told everyone before that I would never play a Goblin. Now I'm leaning towards re-rolling a Goblin when Cataclysm goes Live.

Also I just found out today that we all have to un-install and re-install the game with some new kind of loader when the next patch for the beta rolls out. Jeebus. I hope it's not another 50 hour stint.

Metal

I'm serious these guys love Metal.

Level 9 - Thrall, Town-in-a-Box and a Voidwalker

Well I'm finishing up the evening with my Goblin Warlock. The starter quests in Kezan and some of the opening quests on the Lost Isles have been some of Blizzards best work I've seen so far. It's amazing how much they've grown and learned since Burning Crusade.

Here are some closing shots for the day.. Got real life to get back to tomorrow.

Oh here's a shot of Goblin one-handed Drain Life. Oooh Yeah.

Barrens, Thousand Needles

A Little Sight Seeing

Funniest Quest I Think I've Ever Seen!

So I made it to the Lost Isles. My Warlock is now Level 6. Upon getting to the shipwreck shores and saving some other fellow Goblins, I find out that the native monkeys of the island are just going nuts stealing stuff etc. You know what Monkeys do. So how do Goblins handle it? With a little TNT and a Banana.

Monkey like Goblin Bananas? He ate one and I think he didn't land yet. Man this was soooo funny. And it's even better that ya get to do it more than a dozen times.

Having a Grand Ole Time!

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words!

Goblin Hot Rod!

Hehe! Riding around in Kezan in style. This I hope will eventually be the Goblin Epic Mount.. but for now they're letting you cruise around in Kezan to get quests done quickly. I don't want to spoil much but while playing a game of FootBomb, I accidently angered the Gods. Kezan's about to explode. And what do the Goblins want to do?

PAR-TAY!

My Dream Realized

I know I was supposed to be going to sleep after creating my Warlock.. but.. I had to do this folks.. Been dreaming about this since before Vanilla.

Thats Damere on his flying mount. Over Undercity. Words cannot explain it.

Introducing, Lockgoblin - No more Goblins jumping on the bed!

Introducing! Lockgoblin. My level 1 Goblin Warlock. Now mind you it's 4 in the morning. I just wanted to make sure everything went through patch wise and that I was able to log into Cataclysm. I will get up in a few hours and start questing!

Installation Complete!

I guess it was foolish to think that I'd have this entire past weekend to play the Cataclysm Beta. 53 1/2 hours later Cataclysm was finally downloaded and installed on my computer. And now we're on to patching 4 builds. Half an hour per build it seems.. So I won't be playing that Goblin Warlock tonight. I have one more day off tomorrow. I hope I can spend most of the day with the Beta then.

Still Loading 48 hours later

I learned today that I could have possibly downloaded the Client from a mirror, but I didn't want any unforseen installation problems. At the rate this is going it should complete tonight. I have 2oomb left to download. Then it's time to patch up to the current version. Which I hope won't take as long.

I've decided I will roll a Goblin Warlock to level up with in the Beta, to try things out. So when I get everything up and running I will post pictures and catalogue my adventures.

Yeah.. Still Downloading And Installing..

Now it's over 24 hours since I started this install. It's freaking Sunday. And I'm finally sitting at 69% complete. I imagine I will be done with the install by the end of today, and then it goes to patching all the latest builds.. Which I believe there are four of those. I hope those don't take too long once I have the actual client loaded.

Still Loading.. 10 hours later

Still loading the client. 16% complete after all night. Glad I didn't stay up with it. I read in the Cataclysm Forums that some people who get into the Beta better be ready for a loooong install time. I was kinda hoping to be flying around Ogrimmar by this time today.. but patience has to get you somewhere afterall!

I've been trying to debate other than see the new leveling zones for level 80s.. (Mount Hyjal, Vashj'ir,) etc.. I want to take a new toon through the new content but I'm not sure what to do. On the Live servers I created a toon named Boneshot so that I could create an Undead Hunter to take through the new content. So it has to be something that I would never ever play. And it has to be something so that I won't spoil too much of the Horde content.

So my choices are: Human Hunter, Dwarf Mage / Shaman, Night Elf Mage, Gnome Priest, or a Worgen -of just about any class except Paladin and Shaman.

The Cataclysm Beta

At precisely 10:31PM on July 30th, I was finally invited to the World of Warcraft Cataclysm Beta. Yeah I'm pretty excited about it! I haven't updated this blog in like.. Forever.. but since I got into this I'm going to finally update it with my adventures within the Beta.

I already transfered Damere to the Lost Isles PVE server. I think the first thing I'm going to do is get on a flying mount and explore. Then I will create a new character and test out the new ravaged Old-World. Wait. Do we call it Old-World anymore?

Guess I have some 'splainin' to do.

Horrible things can happen when you get bored and have extra money on your hands. As you can see on the bottom.. I used to be a Human Rogue. As you can tell by the blog title..

But then.. something very strange happened. I was trying to get into a decent guild this entire time.. to no avail. I was trying very hard to get instance runs. Nothing..

So I quit Damere. Again.

I was playing other toons.. I started a Tauren Druid named Thada. Leveled him to his mid 20's. Then the greatest thing in my Warcraft life happened. Patch 3.3 and the new LFG system. Using it I stopped questing entirely on my Druid. I ran every single instance available to my level in Feral Cat form!!! Groups were even quicker when I spec'd Feral Bear. I leveled him all the way to 33.

Then something else happened. I actually faction transfered my Human Rogue.. to the HORDE! With the new LFG I was able to run Heroics.. and am now actually decently geared. I have a Gearscore of 1969 and have three pieces of Tier 9. What a difference! I could probably two shot the old Human Rogue Damere.

So will I change the name of this Blog? No. Cause I wanted to remember how this all started out. This will still be the evasion fail-blog. But the subtitle will change. As a matter of fact. Let me do that now.
